ABOUT THE AUTHOR

In the mid-90s to early 00s, Aaron Ware was a regular performer on local Melbourne stages, where he began to find his feet (well, hands) in writing as one of the students of ACTion Youth Theatre. By the year 2000 he had filmed a low-budget, feature-length film with over 50 actors at various locations around the community.
A lifetime spent consuming pop-culture led him to create Pop-Culture themed crosswords and word puzzles- which garnered the attention of Joss Whedon, who chose to feature Aaron's work in the Season 8 finale issue of Buffy the Vampire Slayer- written by Whedon himself.
Since then, Aaron has gone back to chasing his dreams with such creations as a universe of connected Fairy-Tale pantomimes, published two creative outlet resource books for school students, and spent 12 years developing The Tonaston Tales before finally publishing the first book in the trilogy in 2018.
His educational resources are now being used in over 300 classrooms worldwide!

THE TWANYMALS OF TONASTON’S TANK -

R. Goodwyne

5-STARS “Something New”

I had no clear expectation when I started this book. Now the problem is how to write a review without spoilers? This book is fantasy. One of the problems with modern fantasy is the same subjects get rehashed over and over again. That is not the case in this book. The author has created something entirely new and fascinating.

The tale revolves around a young boy of 10 years named Tonaston who is a bully. And Tonaston doesn't only bully children he bullies adults, teachers and administrators. His one redeeming quality is that he loves animals and in particular rescuing injured animals.

His effort to save a koi sends him on a journey that will change his life.

The plot and character development are great and the author's sense of humor shines through. Once the action picks up its a page turner. I ended up finishing it at 4 in the morning because every chapter left me wanting more.

This is the first in a series of three books which means it ends with much unresolved. I patiently await book 3.

5-STARS “Thrilling, twisted, with a brilliant dash of dark humour”

This is a fantastic new introduction to gothic thrillers for young (and not so young) readers.
With the protagonist something of a loveable antihero, and a rich cast of twisted characters, The Twanymals of Tonaston’s Tank is a journey of growth and discovery filled with exciting twists and an amazingly intricate if somewhat bizarre landscape.
A definite must read, and great to come back to again and again.

5-STARS “Great story!”

I really liked the original ideas, which are hard to come by these days! I also like the redeeming aspect of our main character that he loves animals.

5-STARS “Wonderfully written original story”

It’s refreshing to read a story that you can ‘see’ play out as you read. Full of original content and a pleasure to read. Buying book 2 and looking forward to the release of book 3.

5-STARS “Great Fantasy Story - Very Different!”

Yes, the main character is a bully, but there's so much more to him. This story is so unique, it's impossible to describe without spoiling the experience. Just buy it for yourself - you won't be disappointed!
